The St. Louis Blues forward is facing discipline for boarding Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk in the first period of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final at TD Garden on Wednesday.
The incident occurred with 2:06 remaining in the period. Sundqvist was given a two-minute penalty for boarding at 17:57. Grzelcyk left the game with an undisclosed injury.
St. Louis won 3-2 in overtime to even the best-of-7 series 1-1. Game 3 is at St. Louis on Saturday.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
