Zach Sanford was traded to the Winnipeg Jets by the Ottawa Senators for a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft on Monday.

The 27-year-old forward has scored 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 62 games with the Senators this season.
Also on Monday, the Jets acquired forward Morgan Barron and three draft picks from the New York Rangers for forward Andrew Copp. On Saturday, they also acquired Mason Appleton from the Seattle Kraken for a fourth-round pick in the 2-23 NHL Draft. "The acquisition of the Zach Sanford, for us, gives us a really solid third line when we get back healthy with Adam Lowry," general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff said. "So the acquisitions for us have given us a lot of balance in our lineup and I'm looking forward to."
Selected by the Washington Capitals in the second round (No. 31) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Sanford has scored 91 points (47 goals, 44 assists) in 271 NHL games through six seasons with the Capitals, St. Louis Blues and Senators, and eight points (two goals, six assists) in 25 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
He scored four points (one goal, three assists) in eight playoff games to help the Blues win the Stanley Cup in 2019.
The Jets (29-24-10) are four points behind the Vegas Golden Knights for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.
