Ekblad out week to week for Panthers with lower-body injury

Aaron Ekblad is out week to week for the Florida Panthers with a lower-body injury.

The defenseman left 1:05 into a 3-0 win at the Anaheim Ducks on Friday after he collided with teammate Aleksander Barkov in the corner of the Anaheim zone. Ekblad crawled toward the Florida bench before he was helped to his feet and then to the locker room.
"He's in good spirits," Panthers coach Andrew Brunette said Sunday. "Nothing that is
from the Canadiens. Forward Claude Giroux was traded to Florida by the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
