CBJ@FLA: Panthers honor Bobrovsky for his 500th game

The Florida Panthers gave Sergei Bobrovsky's a little taste of home while celebrating his 500th NHL game.

Bobrovsky reached the milestone last season, but with the season being paused due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Panthers waited until this season to celebrate.
Each Panthers player wore a jersey with their last name spelled out with the Cyrillic alphabet and the number 500 on the back to honor the native of Novokuznetsk, Russia.

Players also wore Bobrovsky-themed shirts under their jerseys.

The NHL presented Bobrovsky with a commemorative crystal frame with pictures of the two-time Vezina Trophy winner in action.

In honor of the milestone, Panthers teammates are sending Bobrovsky on a Tanzanian safari sometime in the future. Florida captain Alexander Barkov also presented Bobrovsky with a silver goalie stick.
The team also played a video tribute for the goalie, which included highlights from his 11 NHL seasons.
