The Bruins became the second team in NHL history to score 21,000 goals when Patrice Bergeron scored late in the second period of Boston's win against the Washington Capitals.
Boston entered play with 20,095 goals, but the line of Bergeron, David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand scored four times, including Bergeron's milestone goal from Pastrnak and Marchand at 17:45 that gave the Bruins a 5-3 lead.
The Montreal Canadiens are the only other club to surpass the 21,000-goal mark, though the Toronto Maple Leafs entered Sunday only 25 goals shy of the plateau. Only Montreal, Boston, Toronto and the Detroit Red Wings have scored more than 20,000 NHL goals.
Boston wasn't content stopping there, though. Marchand scored number 21,001, an empty net goal to seal the Bruins' 6-3 victory.
