WINNIPEG -- Patrik Laine isn't one for grandiose celebrations.

A day after the Winnipeg Jets right wing scored five goals in an 8-4 win against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NHL Draft was home enjoying a snack.

      WPG@STL: Laine's five-goal game makes Jets history

"I don't think he has my number," Laine said.
"I've seen a couple news stories about who has scored five goals before. Yeah, I'm in some good company. But I don't pay attention to those things much. But sometimes I'm just interested in looking at that kind of stuff."
Laine is chasing Selanne in the NHL record books. His 16 goals in November are four from the record of 20 in a month held by Selanne (1992-93) and Joe Malone (1920-21).
"Oh, Teemu has it?" Laine said. "Might as well leave it to him.
"No, he has so many records, so might as well try to break it. Do you guys actually know how many games we have left, this month? Two? OK, so it needs just five in two games. No pressure at all. I didn't know that. But fun fact."
Laine was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday. He is one goal from becoming the seventh player in NHL history to score 100 goals before turning 21 on April 19.
"It's nice to get some recognition from the League," Laine said. "I thought I had a pretty good week, so I was kind of waiting for that. Well, not really. But yeah, it feels good. I had a great week and now I've just got to keep going."
By scoring five goals Saturday, Laine also made one lucky fan a millionaire in Sobeys Safeway's Score & Win contest, when one shopper is selected to win prizes when a Jets player scores at least three goals in one game.
"It's awesome," Laine said. "Changed somebody's life. So feel really good, obviously. That doesn't happen every day. It's a pretty good feeling."
