Bryson Penguins

NHL fans use signs for all sorts of reasons. Some use them to
trade candy for a stick
, while others use them
to find an organ donor
.
On Sunday, a young Pittsburgh Penguins fan made a sign to announce he was cancer free.

His sign said, "I officially beat cancer!! Do any players want a picture by the boards to help me celebrate? Let's go Pens! #BrysonStrong" and caught the attention of Penguins goalie Casey DeSmith and forward and cancer survivor Brian Boyle.

DeSmith and Bryson got a photo together while Boyle gave Bryson a fist-bump through the glass before tossing him a puck.
Boyle was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia, a form of blood and bone marrow cancer treatable by medication, while with the New Jersey Devils on Sept. 19, 2017 and was in remission the following October. In a Penguins Twitter video posted during Hockey Fights Cancer Month, Boyle said his goal on the ice is to win, a mentality he also had while battling cancer.

For Bryson, it was a successful celebration followed by a Penguins win.
