Guerin was honored before the start of the Dallas Stars game at American Airlines Center on Friday. The former player who spent three of his 18 NHL seasons in Dallas was called upon to drop the ceremonial first puck.
He was provided a green Stars jersey with his name and No. 13 stitched on the back and received a huge ovation from the fans in attendance.
It all went as planned, until the assistant general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins had to leave the ice. That is when he had to walk past his current team and, to be more specific, Kessel.
As Guerin walked off Kessel could be seen chirping at him, a huge grin both of their faces the entire time.
Just as he exited the ice, Guerin gave the glass a playful pop, just to show Kessel his words didn't go unnoticed.
