Carter Hart

Carter Hart is out for the season for the Philadelphia Flyers because of a sprained MCL in his left knee.

The goalie has not played since he was injured during a 2-1 shootout win at the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 15. Hart finished the game but felt soreness in his knee the next day.
"This is just a bump in the road for him," defenseman Philippe Myers said. "You know he'll be back stronger than ever next year. We believe in him as a group. We believe in him as an organization. He's a wall for us back there. I have no doubt in my mind he will be back stronger than ever.''
Hart was 9-11-5 with a 3.67 goals-against average, .877 save percentage and one shutout in 27 games (25 starts) this season.
Last season, he was 24-13-3 with a 2.42 GAA and .914 save percentage in 43 games (40 starts).
"Now is not the time to reflect on any particular player," coach Alain Vigneault said before a 5-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday. "Even though Carter's season is over, we still have work to do here, seven games to play. So, once the season is done, I'll be able to answer those questions in more depth.''
A second-round pick (No. 48) in the 2016 NHL Draft, Hart is 49-37-9 with a 2.88 GAA, .905 save percentage and two shutouts in 101 regular-season games with the Flyers, and 9-5 with a 2.23 GAA, .926 save percentage and two shutouts in 14 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Goalie Alex Lyon started against the Devils and allowed four goals on 18 shots.
The Flyers (22-21-7), who are sixth in the eight-team MassMutual East Division, have been eliminated from playoff contention.
