Sergei-Bobrovsky

COLUMBUS -- Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves to lift the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 2-1 shootout win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Nationwide Arena on Saturday.
Pierre-Luc Dubois scored the only goal of the shootout in the top of the third round, then Bobrovsky made a save against Jakub Voracek to end the game.

Defenseman Seth Jones scored for the Blue Jackets (22-13-2), who are 2-0-1 in their past three games.

It was the first shootout attempt of Dubois' NHL career.
"In my entire life, midget, I don't think I've scored in a shootout once, so now I'm 1-for-1 in my career," the rookie center said. "Yeah, I'm happy. I went out there with no plan. I was just going to read what the goalie gives me."

Defenseman Ivan Provorov scored for the Flyers (15-13-7), who have not won at Columbus since Dec. 13, 2005, although six of the past seven games have been decided after regulation.
Brian Elliott, starting on consecutive nights after a 4-2 loss at the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, made 35 saves. In the absence of goalie Michal Neuvirth (lower-body injury), Elliott made his 11th straight start and played for the 20th time in 21 games (19 starts).
"We needed to bear down on the details and we did that tonight," Elliott said. "It just came down to a shootout. That's a good team and a tough barn to take points out of."

Sean Couturier nearly won it for Philadelphia, but he hit the post on the rush with 17 seconds left.
The Flyers have lost three of four following a six-game winning streak.
"I'm proud of the way the guys played," Elliott said. "There were some big blocked shots, some big plays. [Couturier] could have won it with a couple of seconds left in regulation. Tough bounce."
Jones gave the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead on the power play at 17:08 of the first period when he scored with a slap shot from the top of the right face-off circle that went off Provorov.
"Off my butt and into the net," Provorov said. "Sometimes stuff like that happens. You try to block the shot, and the next thing you know it changes direction and it's in the net."
Jones, who scored less than a minute after Blue Jackets forward Matt Calvert hit the post on a shorthanded breakaway, has three goals and two assists during a four-game point streak.
Dubois hit the crossbar 3:05 into the second period, and the Flyers took advantage when they tied it 1-1 at 3:56 when Provorov scored off a drop pass from Claude Giroux, who has eight assists during a five-game point streak.
Philadelphia had a goal disallowed with 1:39 left in the second period after video review showed Taylor Leier's stick was over the crossbar when he deflected the puck.
