Matt Niskanen will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Flyers defenseman is facing discipline for cross-checking Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher.

The incident occurred with 5:08 remaining in the third period of the Flyers' 5-3 loss in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference First Round Wednesday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, the hub city for the East. Niskanen did not receive a penalty. Gallagher completed the game.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: cross-checking. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
