NEW YORK- Philadelphia Flyers forward James van Riemsdyk has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for high-sticking Los Angeles Kings defenseman Alec Martinez during NHL Game No. 826 in Philadelphia on Thursday, Feb. 7, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 1:04 of the first period.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
