Travis Sanheim
signed a two-year, $9.35 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. It has an average annual value of $4.675 million.

The 25-year-old defenseman avoided a team-elected salary arbitration hearing scheduled for Aug. 26. He was the last player among the 19 with hearings scheduled to sign or agree to a contract.
"We discussed all options," Sanheim said Monday. "Ultimately, with the situation that we were in with the NHL salary
(free agency), Rasmus Ristolainen (trade) and Ryan Ellis (trade) this offseason. Shayne Gostisbehere (Arizona Coyotes), Philippe Myers (Nashville Predators) and Robert Hagg (Buffalo Sabres) were traded.
"A lot of changes, lot of new faces," Sanheim said. "I think everyone's excited. I think we see a lot of good things in the moves that were made. Gets us excited to get back to Philly. I know speaking with the other guys and the potential that we see. (General manager) Chuck [Fletcher] has done his job and now it's up to us to come together as a group."
