The 18-year-old defenseman was the No. 8 pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. He had nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 41 games with AIK in the Swedish Allsvenskan League. He also had eight points (two goals, six assists) for AIK J-20 in the Swedish SuperElit League.
Broberg (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) had six points (two goals, four assists) and 20 shots on goal in seven games to help Sweden win the 2019 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and was named the tournament's best defenseman.
He was the third defenseman selected in the 2019 draft behind Bowen Byram (No. 4, Colorado Avalanche) and Moritz Seider (No. 6, Detroit Red Wings).
