Cole holds baby inside Stanley Cup

When a Stanley Cup winner has the trophy for a day, fans often get a close-up view of it. Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ian Cole took it one step further Tuesday, holding a baby in the Cup's bowl at a children's hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

For the second straight year, Cole took the Cup to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in his hometown. Kids there got to see the Cup and have their pictures taken with it, including one baby who went inside the trophy.

"This year is a little more low-key," Cole told MLive.com. "Last year, we tried to share it as much as possible. This year, we wanted to do the same thing with kids here in the hospital ... the ability to get some excitement out of the kids and get some excitement from those who are treating them is something we take a lot of pride in."
Then Cole and the Cup were off to Zingerman's Delicatessen, a popular Ann Arbor restaurant, where fans got to have lunch with a side of Stanley.

After having lunch and taking in the sights of Ann Arbor, Cole gave the Cup a shower.

Cole, who in 2016 became the first NHL player born, raised and trained in Ann Arbor to win the Cup, received a special delivery at home to start the day.

Cole, 28, had nine assists in 25 Stanley Cup Playoff games last season for the Penguins.
