Murray Injury

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Matt Murray will be out week to week because of a lower-body injury sustained against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, coach Mike Sullivan said Thursday.
Murray left the game Wednesday after the second period. Marc-Andre Fleury replaced him, made 19 saves and got the win when Pittsburgh scored twice in the third period for a 3-2 victory.

The Penguins' upcoming schedule could mean Murray won't miss many games. Pittsburgh hosts the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday but does not play again until the Tampa Bay Lightning come to PPG Paints Arena on Jan. 8.
Murray, 22, helped the Penguins win their fourth Stanley Cup last spring. Since recovering from a broken hand sustained while playing for Team North America at the World Cup of Hockey 2016, he is 13-3-1 with a 2.18 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage in 19 games for the Penguins, who entered play Thursday first in the NHL standings.
