The NHL has been paused due to concerns about the coronavirus since March 12. The League revealed that qualifier and round-robin play will begin with Western Conference games at Rogers Place in Edmonton and Eastern Conference games at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Aug. 1.
The New York Rangers, who will play the Carolina Hurricanes in a Stanley Cup Qualifier, released two chills-inducing videos that announce their excitement for hockey's return and playing in Toronto.
Many players seemed even more excited at the opportunity to win the Stanley Cup in 2020. Colorado Avalanche defenseman Ian Cole and forward Nazem Kadri voiced their excitement on Twitter.
The Los Angeles Kings, who did not qualify for either the round robin or qualifiers, also took submissions for whose bandwagon they should join for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Some member clubs nominated themselves as well.
