Pokemon Go is a new augmented reality game based on the classic video games, cards and TV shows that lets users "capture" Pokemon characters in the world around them using their phone's camera and GPS. Users can travel the country to capture characters and restock on items at "Pokestops," located at landmarks such as the Grand Central Terminal clock or the stick chandelier at the NHL Store powered by Reebok in New York City. Players can then choose a team (Mystic, Valor or Instinct) and battle other users at "gyms" located across the country.
According to the Ducks, there are four Pokestops at Honda Center, including one at the Stanley Cup multimedia center inside the team store where the promotion is taking place. There also is a Gym right outside the arena.
The Ducks are the latest team to catch Pokemon Go fever. The Columbus Blue Jackets let their fans know there are different Pokestops at Nationwide Arena, and can do battle at their Gym.
