The way Peter Laviolette and the Nashville Predators coaching staff were dressed, you'd think they lost a bet.
They did.

According to the
Predators team site
, captian Roman Josi was the catalyst. The original proposition was that if the Predators took five of six points on a swing through Western Canada against the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames, they team could wear the wild suits on the road trip.
But then Josi raised the stakes.
He went to Laviolette and said if the Predators swept the three-game set, the coaching staff would have to wear the suits during the game in Dallas. After a 7-1 win over the Canucks, a 4-0 win over the Oilers and a 2-0 victory against the Flames, the coaches weren't left so much with egg on their faces as they were with red and green on their jackets.

Laviolette donned a red and green plaid jacket with a solid red vest and tie. Associate coach Kevin McCarthy went with the red wrapping paper-style jacket with green vest and tie. Assistant coach Dan Muse sported a blue jacket with multi-colored reindeer with a white tie. Goaltending coach Ben Vanderklok showed out in a green wrapping paper style jacket with a red tie. Video coordinator Andrew Meloche and video coach Lawrence Feloney were only stuck with wild suspenders and bow ties.
Alexei Emelin scored just 34 seconds into the game as part of a two-goal first period for the Predators on Saturday, but a 4-3 loss means we probably won't be seeing these suits again.
