For the first time since 2011, the Stanley Cup Final features a team from the United States against a team from Canada. So the leaders of each country are getting in on the action.

President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a friendly wager via Twitter during Game 1 of the Cup Final between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Montreal Canadiens on Monday.
Trudeau started it, asking for a "friendly wager."

Biden didn't take long to reply.

Wagers between politicians are not uncommon, as we saw last round between
mayor of Tampa Jane Castor and Nassau Country executive Laura Curran
. But this is the first chance for a Canadian team to earn bragging rights on the U.S. since the 2011 Stanley Cup Final when the Boston Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks in seven games. Each subsequent year has featured two American teams in the Cup Final.
While terms were not laid out on Twitter on Monday, it would be no surprise if the winner gets more than just bragging rights.
