The Coyotes head to Canada's capital to take on the Ottawa Senators for the second and final time this season. Arizona beat Ottawa 8-5 on March 5 in a wild game that saw the Yotes give up a four-goal lead, trail, and come back to win by three goals. Puck drop against the Sens is set for 4:30 p.m.
PACK FACTS
The last time the Coyotes played in Canadian Tire Centre was Feb. 13, 2020 (3-2 L). Arizona has won two of its last three games played in Ottawa and enters Monday on a stretch of winning six of the last seven contests overall.
In Arizona's 8-5 win on March 5, Nick Schmaltz set a franchise record with seven points (2-5-7), while also tying the franchise record for most assists in a game. The seven-spot is still the most points an NHL player has tallied in a game since Sam Gagner (4-4-8) on Feb. 2, 2012. The outburst inflated Schmaltz's career numbers to 12 points (4-8-12) in seven games against Ottawa.
Clayton Keller and Shayne Gostisbehere also shined in the first Ottawa game by posting four points each. Keller's four points tied his career-high set on Feb. 15, 2018 while Gostisbehere's set a new personal best.
Both Keller and Schmaltz enter Monday on five-game point streaks and have combined for 22 points (8-14-22) since March 5. Another point on Monday would mark Keller's third separate six-game point streak in a 20-game span. If Schmaltz can extend his, it'd tie his career-high.
Dysin Mayo enters play with a four-game point and assist streak. The assist streak is tied for the longest a rookie defenseman has ever tallied in Coyotes/Jets franchise history, most recently achieved by Keith Ballard (2005-06).
The Coyotes franchise is 21-17-2-2 all-time against the Senators.
A LOOK AT THE SENATORS
Ottawa (21-32-5, 47 pts) is 2-2-0 since the last Coyotes-Senators meeting and most recently lost 6-3 at home to the Blackhawks on March 12. Josh Norris has registered four goals in his six games played since returning from injury for a team-leading 22 on the season and linemate Brady Tkachuk (20-22-42) enters Monday with four points (3-1-4) in his last four games. The Senators are in the midst of their longest homestand of the season.
