TEMPE, AZ -The Edmonton Oilers skated at Mullett Arena in Arizona this morning ahead of tonight's matchup against the Coyotes.
It was Jack Campbell who occupied the starters net during the morning skate, making it likely that the 31-year-old will man the crease for the Oilers tonight. The start will be his first since picking up the overtime victory against the San Jose Sharks, his 18th of the season, one week ago.
"I just want to keep building on it," Campbell said about the last few starts of the season. "Obviously it hasn't been the season that I expected of myself, but there's still some hockey left, and I just want to keep finding my game each day."
Head Coach Jay Woodcroft looks to deploy a similar lineup to how he ended the Oilers last game on Saturday against the Vegas Golden Knights. Mattias Janmark finds himself in the enviable position of flanking Connor McDavid and Evander Kane, while Kailer Yamamoto will reunite with Warren Foegele and Nick Bjugstad after a strong showing together on Saturday.
"He's a veteran player," McDavid said about his new line mate. "He's been around a long time and he's smart. He's probably faster than people give him credit for and works hard. I think the thing that stands out when you think of Janny is just how smart he is."
