PWHL takeover tour

The PWHL are gearing up to take over North America.

On Monday, the women’s hockey league announced they will play nine neutral-site games at cities across North America as part of their "PWHL Takeover Tour."

Games will be played in Seattle, Denver, Buffalo, Raleigh, Detroit, St. Louis, Quebec City, Vancouver and one other site that has yet to be determined.

“Bringing PWHL games to fans across both countries is a natural next step as we continue building our audience,” said Amy Sheer, PWHL senior vice president of business operations in a press release. “When exploring potential locations for a PWHL game, the enthusiasm from cities eager to engage with our League was incredibly encouraging. The PWHL Takeover Tour lets us showcase our game and exceptional athletes across a wider North American footprint—an exciting moment for our players and an important move for our business as we consider expansion.”

The “Takeover Tour” begins Jan. 5 when the Montreal Victoire and Boston Fleet visit Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
