Brandon Tanev has everyone seeing ghosts.

The Seattle Kraken forward's headshots went viral the past two seasons for its wide-eyed nature. When asked about it by the media in February of 2021, Tanev joked he "actually did see a ghost" while taking the photo.
"It was walking behind the gentleman who was taking our pictures," Tanev said. "So, it kind of caught me off guard..."
It caught the sports world off guard, too, but the pose caught on with other professional athletes.
