Antti Raanta is paying homage to an Arizona Coyotes great this season.
The Coyotes goalie will wear equipment that resembles Sean Burke's when he played in Arizona on their Kachina Saturday games at Gila River Arena this season. Instagram from @goaliesonly: Raanta Part II: For retro nights, Antti wanted to bring back Sean Burke's old style from the actual Kachina days. 👍 #B⭐️ Raanta will don the blocker, glove and pads when the Coyotes sport their throwback uniforms for home Saturday games. It's the exact design Burke wore when he played in Arizona, where he won 97 games in five seasons and helped the Coyotes reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs twice. Brian's Custom Sports made the old and new versions. Raanta's regular equipment for the 2019-20 season were also revealed earlier in the week, and it is similar to the design he's worn since Arizona acquired him from the New York Rangers in 2017.
