The 29-year-old forward had 51 points (21 goals, 30 assists) in 81 games for the Carolina Hurricanes last season, and 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 14 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
"This was one of just a few teams that we really looked at and thought it was a good fit," Trocheck said. "Coming in we knew that New York was probably our No. 1 choice, and when they came today it was an easy decision. … Obviously, term and security is something everybody is looking for. To be able to get that was something that important to us and shows the confidence that they have in me."

Trocheck said being able to play again for Rangers coach Gerard Gallant also made New York appealing. They were together with the Florida Panthers from 2014-16.

The Rangers also agreed to terms on a one-year contract with goalie Jaroslav Halak. Halak, 37, was 4-7-0 with a 2.94 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in 17 games (14 starts) with the Vancouver Canucks last season. He is 285-180-64 with a 2.49 GAA, .916 save percentage and 52 shutouts in 556 NHL games (531 starts) with the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals, New York Islanders, Boston Bruins and Canucks.
"In the last little bit I certainly heard all about his Ranger-killer moments, so we're excited to have him on our side at the Garden," said Drury. "... It seemed like a good fit all around, his age, his experience, the contract and certainly had some good moments at the Garden."
New York agreed to a two-year contract with goalie Louis Domingue, who was 1-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and .952 save percentage in two regular-season games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season. The 30-year-old then went 3-3 with a 3.65 GAA and .898 save percentage six games (five starts) in place of Tristan Jarry (lower body) and Casey DeSmith (core muscle) against the Rangers in the first round of the playoffs.
The Rangers also acquired defenseman prospect Ty Emberson in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes for defenseman Patrik Nemeth, a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and a conditional draft pick. Emberson, 22, had 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 58 games with Tucson of the American Hockey League.
On Thursday, forward Ryan Carpenter agreed to terms on a one-year contract with New York; financial terms were not disclosed. The 31-year-old had 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 67 games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Calgary Flames last season.
