Red Wings celebrate Staal's 1,000th NHL game with video, custom shirts

Marc Staal is a beautiful man. At least according to his teammates.

The Red Wings shared a fun video where they asked the players to describe the veteran defenseman in two words to honor his 1,000th NHL game played Saturday.
Adam Erne, Thomas Greiss and Filip Zadina had nice words for Staal describing him as a "Big Beauty." Others were a little sillier with their responses. Jordan Oesterle called him a "goofy dude."
"I don't want to be mean," Alex Nedeljkovic told the camera. "I don't know…old."

The video was not the only celebration the Red Wings had in store for Staal.
His teammates sported custom T-shirts that featured Staal's silhouette with the number 1,000 written over his sunglasses. They greeted him with cheers and claps as he arrived in the locker room.

Staal is in his 15th NHL season, playing 108 games in two seasons with the Red Wings and 892 games in 13 seasons with the New York Rangers.
