Larkin's sticks emblazoned with childhood alter ego 'D-Boss'

When you have a great nickname like "D-Boss" you just have to share it with the world.

Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin was resistant at first to the alter ego from his past, but after teammates unearthed some old videos, he has more than accepted the moniker.
For Friday's game against the New York Rangers, Larkin even had the nickname emblazoned on some sticks.

The dollar signs are a nice touch.
The original D-Boss was a would-be YouTube star who put on a "hot and spicy snip show," firing pucks at a net in the basement of childhood friend Evan Gizinski, also known as "Slayer." The video, posted by a then pre-teen Larkin and Gizinski, was so endearing and entertaining, it went viral seven years later.
The team even
gave out a D-Boss bobblehead
to fans earlier this month.

Larkin, who said his stomach dropped when it resurfaced, has since embraced it.
"What happened like six, seven years later is exactly what we wanted to happen that night," Larkin told reporters when the bobblehead was revealed. "I don't know how many views it has on YouTube but it has quite a few so that's exactly what we wanted to happen."
