All but four members of the team and coaching staff were in attendance, including retired coach Scotty Bowman, Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman and Toronto Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan.
The crowd at Joe Louis Arena was most excited to see Konstantinov, who was accompanied by his daughter Stacey.
Konstantinov has made a handful of appearances at Red Wings events since he retired because of injuries he sustained in a car accident after the 1997 Stanley Cup Final, and he's still every bit a fan favorite as he was during his playing days.
The Stanley Cup banner was lowered for a group photo before Konstantinov carried the Cup off the ice with help from former teammates Darren McCarty and Kris Draper.
