Red Wings post photo of young Larkin to commemorate contract extension

The Detroit Red Wings are celebrating Dylan Larkin's contract extension with a blast from the past.

After the forward signed an
eight-year, $69.6 million extension
on Wednesday, the team tweeted out a photo of a young Larkin wearing a Red Wings jersey, perhaps foreshadowing his successful NHL career.

Larkin, a Michigan native, leads the Red Wings in goals (22), assists (35) and points (57) in 59 games this season. The captain was in the final year of a five-year contract before signing the multi-year extension.
He was photographed signing the new contract with Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman earlier.

If only little Larkin could see himself now.
