Ripken The Bat Dog

Ripken The Bat Dog was having a doggone good time at the 2023 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on Saturday.

Ripken showed off his talents as a hockey goalie, making saves against both the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals ahead of the game.
The teams took turns shooting foam pucks at the talented canine, and Ripken looked sharp in net, making saves left and right against some of the best in the sport.
Wearing a gold chain and a vest, Ripken stood excitedly between the pipes - tail wag and all - and only gave up one goal to the Capitals and three to the Hurricanes.

Ripken also welcomed the Hurricanes to the ice for practice, giving everyone fist bumps on their way out of the locker room.

And - like the good boy that Ripken is - he had to share the love with the visiting team as well.

Ripken dropped the ceremonial puck before the game on Saturday.

Hockey is Ripken's third sport. He is also the bat dog for the Durham Bulls (Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) and Holly Springs Salamanders (collegiate summer baseball team) and is the tee retriever for the NC State football team.
That's a paw-fully impressive resume.
