Luongo pasta out of cup

When in Rome… or South Florida.

Roberto Luongo ate pasta out of the Stanley Cup while celebrating the Florida Panthers championship at a local restaurant in South Florida on Wednesday.

In a video posted on social media, the Hall of Fame goalie watches as a server grates cheese over the dish in Lord Stanley and then swirls a piece of spaghetti on his fork. A “Let’s go Panthers” chant broke out as Luongo chowed done.

“Pretty good,” Luongo, who is Italian, said after tasting the dish.

The retired goalie works in the Panthers front office as a special advisor to general manager Bill Zito. He also played 11 seasons for the team from 2000-2006 and 2014-2019.

Luongo, who never won the Stanley Cup as player, had the opportunity to hoist the trophy after the Panthers Game 7 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

He also posted a photo of bringing his new “friend” to work on Wednesday.

Stanley and Luongo seem to be getting along just fine.
