Gilbert Rangers

Wearing a jersey to a game resulted in the meeting of a lifetime for a New York Rangers fan Sunday.

A Rangers rooter clad in a Rod Gilbert jersey earned the ultimate surprise when Gilbert tapped him on the shoulder during warmups ahead of New York's first game at T-Mobile Arena against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Gilbert, who played 1,065 games in 18 seasons with the Rangers, shared the video on his Twitter feed. The fan was so dumbfounded to see Gilbert behind him that his hat fell off his head before he gave the Rangers franchise leader in goals (406) and points (1,021) a big hug.
Just further proof that you never know who you'll bump into at a game.
