rod q coach split

The Carolina Hurricanes kept it all in the family on Saturday.

The team shared a congratulatory message for the Quinipiac University Men's hockey team after they won the NCAA title in thrilling fashion, a 3-2 overtime victory against the University of Minnesota.

For the unaware, Bobcats senior forward Skylar Brind'Amour is the son of Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour.
The Hurricanes coach was shown in the stands wearing a Quinnipiac cap and cheering on his son during the game's ESPN broadcast.
Quinnipiac shared a video of Brind'Amour, who captained the Hurricanes to the 2006 Stanley Cup, giving Bobcats coach Rand Pecknold a big bear hug following the game.

"Go enjoy it," Brind'Amour can be heard saying on the video after the encounter.
It is the school's first NCAA national championship in any sport.
