NEW YORK – Colorado Avalanche forward Ross Colton has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for a dangerous trip against Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson during NHL Game No. 366 in Anaheim on Saturday, Dec. 2, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 3:24 of the third period. Colton was assessed a minor penalty for tripping.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
