Buffalo Sabres center Johan Larsson is out for the season after having surgery on his wrist and elbow, according to Gotland Newspapers in Sweden.
"Unfortunately my season is over," Larsson told the newspaper Monday in a text message.

Larsson was injured during a 3-1 loss at the Boston Bruins on Saturday and had surgery in Boston over the weekend. He was on his way back to Buffalo on Monday, according to the Sabres website.
Larsson, 24, has six goals and five assists in 36 games this season. Buffalo coach Dan Bylsma said after practice Monday that Larsson is out indefinitely.
"It's sad to see," Sabres center Zemgus Girgensons told the Buffalo News. "That's a tough one to see him go. He contributes so much to our team. He's definitely a big loss."
The Sabres play the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, MSG, NHL.TV).
