NEW YORK - Buffalo Sabres defenseman Marco Scandella has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Pittsburgh Penguins forward Patric Hornqvist during NHL Game No. 267 in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Nov. 14, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
