Casey Mittelstadt signed a one-year, $874,125 contract with the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old forward was a restricted free agent. He scored nine points (four goals, five assists) in 31 games with the Sabres last season and 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 36 games for Rochester of the American Hockey League.
Selected by Buffalo in the first round (No. 8) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Mittelstadt has scored 39 points (17 goals, 22 assists) in 114 NHL games.
