Sammy Blais will have a hearing with NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday.

The St. Louis Blues forward is facing discipline for an illegal check to the head of Colorado Avalanche defenseman Devon Toews on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the Avalanche zone at 4:43 of the first period during St. Louis' 4-1 win at Ball Arena. Blais was given a two-minute penalty for elbowing. Toews was able to finish the game.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
