Dell made 31 saves in a 2-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday after No. 1 goalie Martin Jones sustained a lower-body injury in a 5-3 loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. Dell is 10-0-1 since Dec. 1.
"Our D-zone coverage was great tonight; forwards helping out as well," Dell said. "I think we just worked as a full five-man unit all night long."
Rickard Rakell and Ryan Getzlaf each had a goal and an assist for the Ducks (22-17-9). John Gibson allowed five goals on 22 shots and was replaced by Ryan Miller with 7:52 remaining.
"The rest and the legs should have been ours tonight," Getzlaf said. "They were [playing the second game of] a back-to-back, and we didn't take advantage of that."
The Sharks scored the first three goals before the Ducks made it 3-2 on a 5-on-3 goal by Rakell with 27 seconds left in the second period and Getzlaf's goal at 1:47 of the third.

The 5-on-3 started after Joe Pavelski was called for slashing Cam Fowler 19 seconds after Joel Ward went to the penalty box for tripping Brandon Montour.
Rakell tried a short centering pass, but it went off Sharks defenseman Justin Braun's stick into the net.
Thornton scored a power-play goal at 2:47 to give San Jose a 4-2 lead and pass Brian Trottier for 16th in NHL history in points (1,426).
Boedker finished a 3-on-1 at 9:49 for his second goal of the night to make it 5-2, and Karlsson scored off another odd-man rush with 4:54 left for a 6-2 lead.

"We did too much standing around," Getzlaf said. "The intensity wasn't there with our legs."
The Ducks kept the puck in the Sharks zone for long stretches during the second half of the first period, but it was San Jose that took a 1-0 lead at 13:53 when Vlasic scored.
Vlasic brought the puck into the Anaheim zone along the right wall, passed ahead through Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin's legs to Tomas Hertl skating through the right face-off circle. Hertl backhanded a pass that went off Montour's skate directly to Vlasic cutting into the middle, and he scored with a shot to Gibson's stick side.
Dell made a save on Rakell on a breakaway at 1:11 of the first period, and Ducks forward Adam Henrique hit the left post on a 2-on-0 at 14:29.

Dell made a save on Andrew Cogliano on a shorthanded breakaway with 3:28 left in the second.
"We were under siege there for a while, and he made a couple big saves for us," Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. "We have been getting goaltending like that all year, and that has been critical."
Kevin Labanc made it 2-0 at 3:38 of the second period when he scored on a breakaway after Timo Meier stripped Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm from behind as he prepared to shoot.
"It was a great opportunity, and if I missed that, that would have definitely not been good," Labanc said.
Boedker made it 3-0 at 13:56 of the second with a power-play goal. He scored from the top of the right face-off circle with Meier providing a screen, hitting the net with four seconds left on a slashing penalty on Montour.
