Sandler visits Colorado Eagles split

All Happy Gilmore wanted was to make the hockey team and, although he didn’t quite make it as a player in the movie, clearly his hockey fandom lives on.

Adam Sandler – the star of the 1996 comedy “Happy Gilmore” about a hockey player turned golfer – made it out to the rink with co-stars Rob Schneider and Jonathan Loughran on Tuesday to visit the Colorado Eagles AHL hockey team. The Eagles are the AHL affiliate for the Colorado Avalanche.

The three comedians posed for a photo with the team. Sandler had on an Eagles jersey, Schneider had a bowl of noodles (because why not?) and Loughran stood in the back with a cross-eyed stare made famous in the classic film "Waterboy", which all three actors appeared in.

We can’t confirm whether or not Sandler – err, Gilmore – tried out for the Eagles on Tuesday, but it does seem like he kept his cool throughout the night.
