Watching the Frozen Frenzy on Tuesday might have given some NFL RedZone fans a sense of déjà vu, and even more so when a familiar face popped up on screen.
Scott Hanson, the host of NFL RedZone since its inaugural season in 2009, sent his best wishes to John Buccigross and Kevin Weekes, the hosts of the new Frozen Frenzy, in a video during the ESPN broadcast.
Hanson offered some advice to the two hosts.
“I think you’ll find hosting this is a lot like hockey,” Hanson said in the video. “You keep your head on a swivel, you have fast, tight shifts as you transition from game to game, and be willing to sacrifice your body.
“When the action is frenzy and you can’t get up to take a break, just consider it an overtime challenge for your bladder,” Hanson joked, a play at Buccigross's popular social media overtime challenge.
Hanson, fittingly holding a football in the video, then went on to offer a heartfelt message.
“Seriously Bucci, you know the game, you love the game, you respect the players and the coaches, and I know you love bringing the audience absolute excellence every time you’re on the air. So have a great season, we’ll be watching.”
He showed his support on social media too, claiming to be watching the Frozen Frenzy broadcast from the start.
