Seattle Aquarium released the Kraken on Wednesday.
The aquarium unveiled its new giant Pacific octopus, aptly named after the Seattle Kraken expansion team that will begin play for the 2021-22 NHL season. Instagram from @seattlekraken: We took a trip down to the @seattleaquarium to meet their new Giant Pacific Octopus, Kraken, today, and y'all... he's perfect. 🥺💙 Kraken is one of two new cephalopods added to the aquarium, entering with a 2-pound female named Ink Jet. The 35-pound male, who was collected in Puget Sound and is on display as of Wednesday, bears a resemblance to the mythical monster after which the NHL team was named.
