Questions ranged from why Tanev wanted to play hockey and about his brother, Chris Tanev, who plays for the Calgary Flames.
"Maybe cross-check him as hard as you can," one of the kids told Tanev to do the next time he plays his brother.
"I don't think my mom would like that too much though," Tanev said.
Ghosts were the most important topic of the talk, when Tanev revealed the reason behind his infamous headshots.
"Have you actually seen a ghost before?" one young fan asked Tanev.
"I did a couple years ago, yeah. That's pretty scary. It spooked me. I'm still scared to the day. Every time I take a picture my eyes are like," Tanev answered as he made his eyes big.
The other kids then attempted their best ghost face impressions.
It does not look like the kids were too spooked by Tanev.
