The Seattle Kraken spent Friday hoping someone got their message in a bottle.
Make that messages in bottles. The NHL's newest franchise held a scavenger hunt around the Greater Seattle Area that had fans looking for a glass bottle emblazoned with the Kraken logo. The rules were simple. Follow the team on Instagram. Check their stories for clues. Find the bottle. "This morning, bottle messages from the deep washed ashore. They now rest on the shorelines of the greater Seattle area. Each one can be found using clues posted on our (Instagram) story today. The first person to arrive at each location takes home a gift box. Get out there and good luck!," the team shared. Winners were given a Kraken prize box and shoutout on social media. It was just the latest Kraken-themed contest as anticipation grows for the team's debut during the 2021-22 season. Last week, Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced a "Find Kraken" contest, where young people could research and submit drawings of a Kraken to win a lifetime pass for the Washington State ferry system.
