Kraken players pumped up for 2024 Winter Classic announcement

The Seattle Kraken will host the 2024 Winter Classic at T-Mobile Park, the home of the Seattle Mariners, and players were pumped up about it.

"I've never played in an outdoor game so that's gonna be so fun," Kraken forward Matty Beniers said.

"That's awesome. It's such exciting news," forward Yanni Gourde said. "It's going to be great. We're super excited about that."

Kraken goalies Philipp Grubauer and Chris Driedger talked about what kind of pads to get for the game and the thinking was "brown, old-school."

Their opponents, the Vegas Golden Knights, took to social media to share that they will likely be bundled up for the game.

"I went to a couple of Winter Classics growing up and they were pretty cool to go to," said Beniers. "Being able to play in one would be pretty sweet."
