Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings won the Selke Trophy as best defensive forward in the NHL at the 2018 NHL Awards Presented by Hulu at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old center led NHL forwards in total ice time (1,810:58) and average ice time (22:05) per game to help the Kings lead the League in defense (2.46 goals against per game) and penalty-killing percentage (85.0 percent). He led Kings forwards in shorthanded ice time (2:10 per game) and was third in the NHL in total face-offs (1,816) and face-off wins (983), setting NHL career highs in each category.
