Dillon suspended one game for slashing

NEW YORK -- San Jose Sharks defenseman Brenden Dillon has been suspended for one game, without pay, for slashing Washington Capitals defenseman Madison Bowey during NHL Game No. 412 in Washington on Monday, Dec. 4, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 19:55 of the third period. Dillon was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for slashing.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Dillon will forfeit $17,580.65. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
