VAN@SJS: Puck bounces off Kunin for goal in the 2nd

When a vulcanized rubber disc hits a sheet of ice, sometimes there's just no telling where it will end up.

Take the San Jose Sharks first goal against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. No one saw it coming and no one saw it while it was happening, least of all the player who was given credit for the goal.
It started easily enough. Sharks defenseman Matt Benning made a pass from the point to Nick Bonino in the slot. This is where normal exits the building for the rest of the play.
Canucks forward Sheldon Dries tries to defend the deflection but can't, probably because he can't see the puck. Why? Because it was somehow rolling up the back of Sharks forward Luke Kunin.
As the puck ski jumped off Kunin's shoulder, everyone was looking for it. Canucks defensemen Luke Schenn and Quinn Hughes were unsuccessful. As was Sharks forward Noah Gregor, who started to skate toward the area behind the net.
Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko moved low and to his right to try and stop the puck, but it was neither to his right nor low.
But the time any of the players had located the puck, it was inside the net to the delight of Kunin, his fourth of the season.
That was one magic puck.
