Zegras Bear Scare

Kevin Shattenkirk has a new nickname, according to Max Jones. Call him, "Shattenscare."

The Anaheim Ducks defenseman and forward teamed up to scare some teammates before the holiday break.
The Ducks were brought into the locker room to record individual holiday messages to fans. Behind them was a mini-Christmas set, including a giant teddy bear, which Shattenkirk hid in.

"You always see stuff like this, like Impractical Jokers, guys in the other room and then playing pranks on your buddies," Jones said. "This is as good as it gets."
Forward Jakob Silfverberg sat alone waiting to record his messages when Shattenkirk pushed a Christmas present off a ledge and onto the floor. Silfverberg, probably thinking it was the Ghost of Christmas Past, got up to put the present back and jumped when Shattenkirk scared him.
"He tried to punch me in the face!" Shattenkirk said.
Defenseman Jamie Drysdale was told to record his holiday message next to the bear. Shattenkirk scared him and Drysdale's message came out as something like, "Happy holidays from the N-H-AHHH what the hell was that?"
But none were more scared than forward Trevor Zegras, who leaned away from the bear, screaming and pulling his sweatshirt over his face. Zegras stayed like that for multiple seconds, scared to look at the bear.
"That was the most scared I've ever been in my entire life," Zegras said.
Thanks to Shattenkirk and Jones, it's doubtful the Ducks will be gifting any teddy bears this Christmas.
